Music of springtime brings nature to life! Join Voices 21, a Washington-area chamber chorus, as we celebrate flowers and trees in the final concerts of our 2018-2019 season. Central to the program is Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Les Fleurs et les Arbres” which captures both the beauty and sorrow of eternal nature. The concert also includes several selections from Benjamin Britten’s “Five Flower Songs,” multiple settings of Edmund Waller’s 17th-century poem, “Go, Lovely Rose,” as well as contemporary compositions by Stephen Chatman and Ola Gjeilo featuring 19th-century poems from Christina Rossetti. Completing this tribute to the changing season we perform works by Robert Lucas Pearsall and Gerald Finzi as well as several contemporary artists.
Come join us for an afternoon of musical journey from spring to summer.
