Maryland New Year’s Eve celebrations run the gamut from some of the largest, most extravagant parties on the east coast to more subtle, intimate affairs. This means that no matter what kind of celebration you enjoy, there’s definitely something perfect for you. From murder mystery train rides to spectacular firework displays, here are the 10 best NYE celebrations in Maryland! 

Annapolis New Year’s Eve Celebration, Annapolis, MD

The city of Annapolis, Maryland hosts a yearly New Year’s Eve celebration for its citizens starting at 3 p.m. on December 31 and ending just before midnight. The celebration is broken into two sections: kid’s activities during the day and more adult, but still family-friendly activities at night, including live music and dancing. End the night with midnight fireworks over the City Dock in the Susan Campbell Park. 

New Year’s Eve Murder Mystery Trains, Cumberland, MD

Celebrate New Year’s Eve aboard a Scenic Western Maryland Railroad car and take part in a murder mystery show. TV chef Appletini will be aboard for the celebration filming his latest show while guests enjoy appetizers, dinner, dessert, and champagne in addition to the murder mystery. Choose between the 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows. 

New Year’s Eve Celebration and Fireworks, Oceanside, MD

Ocean City’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show caps off the annual award-winning Winterfest of Lights celebration. Participants can enjoy live entertainment, a ride through the stunning Winterfest of Lights display through Northside Park, comprised of over a million holiday lights, and fireworks at midnight.

Krumpe’s Donut Drop 2019, Hagerstown, MD

Krumpe’s Donut Drop is always a great time. Kick off your New Year’s celebration in the Hagerstown downtown square with kid’s games, crafts, coloring, and more at 5 p.m. The festivities continue through the night, with live musical performances, free coffee, hot chocolate, and Krumpe’s Do-nuts to the first 5,000 people, fireworks, and more.

Baltimore’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular, Baltimore, MD

Baltimore has no shortage of excellent New Year’s Eve parties, and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and Arts’ New Year’s Eve Spectacular is one of the best. Live music starts at 9 p.m. Come early to ice skate and stay late to see the fireworks show, ignited from two barges anchored in the harbor and choreographed to music.

2019 Family New Year’s Eve Party, Monrovia, MD

In 2019, celebrate the New Year with the entire family at Adventure Park USA. Tickets are available online and at the door. The bash includes party hats, a DJ, balloon drop, meal, video games, laser tag, ropes course, and more. 

Midnight Muskrat Dive, Princess Anne, MD

Big Night D.C., National Harbor, MD

Head on down to the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center for one of the biggest New Year’s celebrations on the east coast: The Big Night D.C New Year’s Eve Extravaganza.
