Mission

ACLT's mission is threefold:
"We promote land conservation throughout Calvert County, Maryland. We provide environmentally sustainable public access to our preserved properties for educational, scientific, recreational and cultural purposes. We protect the natural and cultural resources of the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds for the benefit of this and future generations."

In plain English:
- We preserve land and assist others in the preservation of their land;
- We connect people with the land by allowing the public to use our trails, by inviting the public on guided canoe trips, by hosting social and educational events, and by offering volunteers the opportunity to help us care for the land; and
- We manage the lands we have preserved to ensure that the natural and cultural resources they contain continue to be protected.

Incredible place, so full of natural beauty. Great signage, markings, and maps, it would be almost impossible to get lost. If you leave here disappointed you really need to manage your expectations for a nature area, because ACLT gets it right. Yup, there are bugs - news flash, they live outside. You can't go out seeking nature and then get upset when the place actually delivers.

Moderate to difficult hike. Lots of uphills. Took my dog. He loved it and did well. Found a cool bottle from 1930s intact.

What an awesome place! What more could you ask for in a trail system? There are trails of all difficulties and the setting is awesome. Shame on any negative stars for bugs and maintenance of a FREE TRAIL system, this isnt a city park. Unreal. I wish I could have this amazing place closer to my house. Keep up the good work ACLT you're doing a wonderful thing.

This is the best place to explore it's absolutely beautiful. I'm lucky enough to live close to it that it's a easy walk from my house. One of my favorite places to be!
