Black Hill Visitor Center, located in Boyds, Maryland, is the site for Black Hill Nature Programs. The Center sits atop a hill overlooking Little Seneca Lake in the 2,000+ acre Black Hill Regional Park. Park Naturalists have explored the area in and around the Lake and have incorporated the best the region has to offer into a wide range of programs, for all ages, in all seasons.

Program participants can kayak Lake Seneca’s many nooks and crannies looking for beaver, waterfowl and turtles; or, they may learn how ancient peoples survived the changing Piedmont seasons. The littlest ‘naturalists’ can hear stories as they take a ride on the Kingfisher pontoon boat; adults can add birds and butterflies to their life lists as our expert guides point out wildlife hotspots.

Love coming here with my family - lots of picnic areas, playgrounds, lake, bat ramp, kayaks and paddle boats for rent. There's a center for kids where they can learn about nature. There's also a good size dog park and lots of trails around the lake

Such an awesome place. My family have been visiting this place since my kids were very young. We came here for fishing and yes we did catch some. Also boating is great here in summer. You can also do picnics and host any type of parties. I think no alcoholic beverages allowed here. You have to reserve the booth though. There is a dog park as well. And you can go on a long hike. Ride your bike or go for jogging. Trails are really nice. We recently had 5K walk and run here. It is really nice place to bring your kids for playing or just to toss the freebie around. Your pets will also appreciate you for bringing them here. I have always seen big birthday parties at get together.

A very nice and well maintained park with plenty of activities for people and dogs of all ages. There is also a nice big fenced in dog exercise area where your furry friend can romp on his own or maybe with some other furry friends.

If you have your own boat, canoe or kayak, battery electric powered motors allowed, small sail boat, or kayak with sail... you can get a Regional Park season boat permit that works for here and for Lake Needwood. I love to bring my kayak here and go out and stay out all day. The heron here are beautiful and there are other rarely seen birds that come out to fish now and then. Big fish may pull your kayak, and as you can see in my picture there is at least one old turtle that swims that is as big as a kayak.

Very nice park with nice views and walk/run/bike trail. Small boat tour around the lake is available as well. If you visit before 5pm you can take a look to the sky through a telescope they have in the service house.
