GLAF is partially supported by grants from The Garrett County Arts Council; the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive; and Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, a program developed and funded by The Heinz Endowments; the William Penn Foundation; the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency; and the Pew Charitable Trust, and administered by Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Garrett Lakes Arts Festival is committed to making all of its programs and activities accessible to persons with disabilities.

Mission Statement

The mission of Garrett Lakes Arts Festival is to present a repertoire of high-quality arts performances and arts education that is accessible to and suitable for a diverse audience.

Specific Goals:

To expand audience appreciation and understanding of the arts, by introducing a diversified repertoire of affordable performing arts; and when possible, supplement performances with workshops and opportunities to meet with the artists; and

To support the educational enrichment of children through exposure to the arts through performances and seminars in the schools and by providing opportunities for young people to showcase their own artistic talent; and

To preserve and perpetuate cultural performances that emphasize our rich mountain heritage as well as the artistic traditions of other cultures.
