Mission :
Because we believe in the vital role of art in society, we at Maryland Institute College of Art are dedicated to the education of professional artists and designers, and to the development of a collegiate environment conducive to the evolution of art and design.
Vision :
During its self-study in 1997-1998, the College developed a vision statement to guide it through the next decade. The statement has four components and has been continually refined. Within this statement, the educational vision is first and foremost. The other three visions are critical components to make the primary vision a reality.

MICA has become the leader in the education of artists and designers by fostering a community of talented, creative individuals committed to redefining the boundaries of art and design and to expanding their own vision and perspective through rigorous study.
