My Girlfriend's House is a nonprofit organization made up of a community of women and young ladies, empowering each other to be better, stronger and smarter.

Mission

Our mission is to empower young girls living in poverty to break the cycle and maintain a positive understanding of self- worth, confidence, and professional advancement.

Founded in August 2010, My Girlfriend's House Inc. provides support for such at-risk young women in the D.C. metropolitan area. Created with the intent of providing aid and basic needs to women in various states of sheltered living, My Girlfriend's House soon found an underserved demographic in teenage girls living in poverty and homeless shelters. Seeking to give attention to this demographic, My Girlfriend's House developed a program designed to empower the girls sense of self-worth and independence through not only words, but material items and actions.

My Girlfriend's House hosts a number of programs designed to help such young women succeed both academically and professionally. The Girl Talk mentoring program serves as the foundation of support, providing young women with a guiding hand towards improved self-esteem and a greater sense of self-worth. With a structured curriculum developed by Girl Talk Inc., girls improve upon several important subjects, such as proper etiquette, accountability, integrity and self-respect.

My Girlfriend's House Inc. is an organization run by the community, for the community, and owes much of its success to those who also have a great desire to see betterment in the lives of the at-risk young women of the D.C. metropolitan area.
