Old Town Bowie Welcome Center
Built in 1929, the Bowie Building Association now contains local area visitor information, hands on activities for children, and exhibits on the history of Old Bowie and its past as a close-knit local railroad community.
The Welcome Center hosts a number of family-oriented events over the year, including “Kids Kaboose” for youngsters and the annual Trainspotting day each November. Admission is free; donations are welcomed.
This review more so has to do with the service received. The welcome center staff person was very cold. Apparently we interrupted what ever she was doing before because she clearly wanted us out as soon as possible. We were interested in hearing what was available to do/see, but we were expected to know what they offered before we arrived. She barked something about opening the museum next door. Clearly, I annoyed her by asking that she repeat what she said because I didn't hear her. She opened the museum, didn't expain what it was about and told us to close the door when we're done. I will not be recommending anyone give time that they can't get back by visiting this place. Good service goes a long way and the mark was unfortunately missed here.
Wonderful experience. Knowledgeable staff.
