Expected more but kids had a good time. The Frederick location is in the mall so they're limited space wise. I threw a party there for my son and I felt we spent more than necessary. He had a good time but the Adventure park laser tag setup in the same area is much better in our opinion.
We celebrated my sons 7th birthday there this past weekend. I am giving two stars only because my son did enjoy himself. However, I am extremely disappointed with the staff at this location. Not only did they seem immature to be running and handling events that are being paid for, but they were extremely unorganized. They ask you to fill out a form with certain information prior to the party so that things will be set up for you the day of. NOTHING was prepared before we arrived - no sign that read "Happy Birthday, xxxxx" - cups weren't even cleaned prior to us arriving - We ordered a group picture which should've been noted prior to the beginning of our last adventure and it was not noted and therefore took place once guests were preparing to leave. We were also suppose to receive a picture of the birthday boy in hard copy and because of unforeseen difficulties I waited over 15 mins past our party's end time and still didn't receive the photo. If you prefer to have a more professional and organized staff to help make your son's party run more smoothly I would not recommend this place.
I I visited the Shadowland in Frederick with my teenage son and found that it was wonderfully entertaining. I was greeted by a friendly and cheerful voice when I entered and a warm smile. The young lady explained how the registration worked and the cost seemed reasonable so we both played. We attended the "briefing" where they explained the rules and I was surprised at how family friendly it was. When we began the first game I was totally enthralled at how much fun the game play was. I was lost in a competition against my son, but soon caught up in a grand contest against the other team. I smiled and laughed as we battled and thoroughly enjoyed myself. They won't let you run, but a fast walk is okay, and by the time I was done for the round I was ready for a break. I went to the lobby and realized that they sold bottles of water and small snacks like popcorn and candy. The remaining two games were just as entertaining as the first, and I left thoroughly entertained and ready to return with my husband too! Everything there was clean and the laser tag equipment performed flawlessly. My son can't wait to return and wants me to bring him and his friends. He even indicated that he thought it might be fun to have an overnight party for his birthday!
Gun did not work. Try adventure park later tag instead.
Mostly little kids bust some adults on a usual day. Everyone has a lot of fun when they go here. The staff are friendly and really good with the kids
