Toby's Dinner Theatre
Located in the heart of Columbia, Toby's Dinner Theatre offers award-winning Broadway and original musicals with an exceptional buffet-style dinner. From our customer’s first contact with our Box Office or Group Sales staff to watching our servers transform into the glamorous, talented performers on stage, our commitment to our guest’s enjoyable Toby’s experience is first and foremost. This is truly a unique venue with an amazing performance 'in-the-round.'
Toby's, celebrating its 28th year, has its own history and style. The theatre is one of the few regional dinner theatres that maintains a live orchestra. Performances in-the-round provide the patron with a dynamic interactive experience and a fine seat, with none are more than 30 feet from the stage. Toby's has been nominated 38 times for Helen Hayes Awards. Toby won the 2003 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director of a Resident Musical and resident choreographer, Illona Kessel, won the 2002 and 2004 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Choreography.
Toby's has a full service bar, 25 item salad bar, a luscious buffet, desserts and make your own sundae bar. Added attractions are specialty drinks in Toby's glasses and commemorative tee shirts.
Visited Toby's Dinner Theater with my homeschool group and had a wonderful experience! The actors/actress did an amazing performing of portraying the Life of Jackie Robinson in the Most Valuable Player! The Q&A session at the end allowed the students to ask questions which was a bonus. This type of performance didn't include a dinner but it was appropriate for an entertaining and educational field trip.
Food was good, lots of variety, salad bar. Show was fabulous. Still trying to figure out how they did so much in such a small space. They do 7 shows a year and I definitely plan to see as many as possible. Had a wonderful time. Service was great.
Dream Girls was a good play with an amazing cast. The food and customer service was great. Great girls nite or date night.
One of my favorite theatres in the round!! Good family friendly productions most of the time, however there are moments of adult humor inappropriate for children's ears and eyes. Good food, tastefully prepared, named and displayed according to the production.
Love most the shows. The food is ok but if you go a lot like we do you get tired of the food fast. They have the same stuff with different name all the time. Boring! We skip dinner and do the show some times. We have sent suggestions tons if times for different food but must be a rule they never change. Actors are good and the place is very clean.
