Colonial Players, Annapolis, MD

This is community theater at its best with adults and children participating throughout the year. One hundred and eighty people can easily fit in the theater, at its location in Annapolis, so grabbing dinner or staying at a fabulous hotel can turn an evening at the theater into a fun weekend.

Fells Point Corner Theatre, Baltimore, MD

This is a small community theatre where you can catch live theatre in an incredibly intimate setting. A local secret, you can come here with a date or a group of friends to watch fearless performances and plays written by local play writes. It’s truly a one of a kind experience.

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, Annapolis, MD

Come watch these young stars delight audiences with their incredible talent. They have educational classes as well, making this a popular spot for kids from all over Anne Arundel County. They have around three shows per year so there is plenty of shows to see.

Baltimore Center Stage, Baltimore, MD

This is the largest professional producing theater in the area so there are constantly new shows to watch. They are diverse featuring shows like “Jazz” and “Twisted Melodies.” In addition to their main stage, they also have something called off-center where you can see plays written and performed by local artists, along with a robust arts education program.

Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre, Chestertown, MD

You may not think of Chestertown for all-time favorites like “Roots” along with cult favorites like “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” but you can find it all at this local, community theatre. They also host musical artists, school performances, and even have an open mic night. There is always something going on which gives residents plenty of reason to stay on this side of the water.

Avalon Theatre, Easton, MD

The Avalon Theatre was established to provide residents of the Eastern Shore with a venue to watch live theatre and performances from artists throughout the area. They are a non-profit that promotes art education and entertainment—a true community partner. A lot of bands come through here and so do local plays.

Mar-Va Theater, Pocomoke City, MD

Hippodrome Theatre, Baltimore, MD

In 1914, the Hippodrome Theater was built to host vaudeville shows and it is fabulous. The theater is legendary, visually stunning on the inside, and features all types of shows from live theater to concerts and shows. Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, Bowie, MD

This local performing arts center hosts all types of local theatrical events.
